PROCUREMENT INVENTORY SUPERVISOR

This position performs highly responsible supervisory work overseeing procurement and inventory operations, including administration, direction, training, and supervision of procurement processes, vendor management, contract compliance, and team oversight within the Purchasing Department, specifically for the Water Department.

Under general direction, an employee in this classification supervises procurement and warehouse staff engaged in the acquisition, storage, distribution, and documentation of materials, equipment, and services  for the City’s Water Department operations. The employee exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment in planning procurement strategies, managing complex solicitations, overseeing inventory control functions across multiple locations, and maintaining compliance with City purchasing policies, warehouse standards, and applicable laws. Work is reviewed through conferences,  reports, and evaluation of results, with significant independence exercised in coordinating resources, directing procurement and warehouse operations, overseeing system improvements, and ensuring efficient and accountable support of departmental needs.
